The purpose of this task is to take the changes from 7156e/15727 and put them into a separate branch, then review and test the changes. After merging those changes to trunk, this custom patch will no longer be required to be applied on the next 7156<> branch.

Committed 10522a/16177. Changes from 7156e/15727 built on trunk/15726: Added change to collections java file from 6410b. (refs: #9139, #6410, #9238, #7156, #10522)

All regression testing passed for 10522a. Constantin/Greg, the branch can be merged if you are ok with this.

You are missing a change from the files. But lets wait please for Andrei to see how #9488 is going - I think we are close to commit those.
